US Ambassador to Egypt: US won't dictate Cairo path
US ambassador to Egypt, Margaret Scobey, spoke by phone Tuesday with Mohamed ElBaradei, a Nobel laureate and a leader in the largely leaderless opposition against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.
Sources in Washington say that Scobey told ElBaradei that "the US is interested in a political change in Egypt, but that the US government won't dictate the path which Cairo must follow." (AFP)
