Itamar attack probe: 2 terrorists jumped over fence
An initial probe into the murder of five family members in the settlement of Itamar Friday night reveals that two terrorists apparently jumped over the security fence around 10 pm on Friday. The electronic system alerted of contact but not of a breach in the fence. It is still unclear why the standby unit were not called to the scene following the alert.
The murder was discovered by the family's 12-year-old daughter, who returned home around 12:30 pm and took her two brothers, who were unharmed in the attack, to the neighbor's house. Security forces canvassing the area overnight estimated that the terrorists managed to escape back into the Palestinian territories. (Yair Altman)
