Dozens protest for Shalit outside PM's home

Some 250 activists call for captive soldier's release, gather outside Benjamin Netanyahu's Caesarea home even though PM himself wasn't at home

Some 250 activists took part in a Gilad Shalit march near Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's home in Caesarea on Saturday. Netanyahu himself was not at home but the protestors vowed to return.

The demonstrators planned to form a human circle around Netanyahu's house but eventually settled for a march. Orna Shimoni, of the 4 Mothers organization said: "We shall keep campaigning until Gilad Shalit returns home alive."

Yosef Grof, who was released as part of the Jibril Deal also took part in the demonstration. "I spent two years and nine months in captivity and I know what it's like to be caged in a dark room. Israel's best and brightest need to sit down and figure out how to get Gilad back home."

One of the protest's organizers Magen Dahari said that Netanyahu deliberately stayed away from the house to avoid the demonstration. "We shall keep on protesting outside his house, and as far as we're concerned he can get here on a helicopter or via the dunes."
