Amnesty urges Malaysia to arrest Sudan leader

Amnesty International is asking Malaysia to revoke its invitation for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir to attend an economic forum this weekend or to arrest him when he shows up because he is wanted on war crimes charges.

Malaysia's government says Al-Bashir is among several African leaders who will attend the three-day forum starting Sunday in Malaysia. The International Criminal Court has issued arrest warrants for al-Bashir for allegedly orchestrating atrocities in Darfur. Amnesty says Malaysia should not "turn itself into a port of call for fugitives from international justice." (AP)
