Police forces on Friday evacuated dozens of elderly residents from Kibbutz Yassur and Moshav Ahihud in the Western Galilee due to a brushfire that erupted in the area and spread toward Kibbutz Yassur.
Some of the residents were asked to stay in their homes and shut the windows. No injuries were reported.
Parts of Highway 70 have been closed for traffic due to the fire. Some 20 firefighting teams, police forces and four aerial firefighting aircraft were called to the scene and are attempting to extinguish the flames.

Akko resident Shalom Haviv, who was traveling through the area, told Ynet: "I was driving home when suddenly they stopped us and told us to go back the other way.
"The flames are reaching all the way to the factories in Bar-Lev and possibly Ahihud too," he said, noting that the "road was filled with smoke," he said.
