Labor Party leader Shelly Yachimovich criticized Kadima Chairwoman Tzipi Livni's opposition to the Shalit deal. "True leadership is tested in real time", she said addressing Livni's belated response to the topic, "Even when the position is not popular".
According to Yachimovich: "Though I do not agree with Livni's opposition to Gilad Shalit's release, it would have been appropriate for her to express her stance at the height of the public debate into the matter, without consideration for popularity. Moreover, the Kadima-Labor government had already agreed on a similar outline in the past so her current opposition is unclear." (Boaz Fyler)
