Created by Robert Popper, "Friday Night Dinner" premiered back in February in England. The British sitcom focuses on a Jewish family and their weekly Shabbat dinner.

The original show - which stars Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter, Mark Heap and Tom Rosenthal as the Goodman family - airs on Channel 4 in England and in the United States on BBC America.

Daniels, who is also behind hit shows such as "Parks and Recreation" and "King of the Hill", will most likely be producing the American version of the show, according to Deadline.
