The Civil Service Commission is looking into information according to which a senior aide at the prime minister's bureau harassed and invaded the privacy of a female co-worker for a long period of time.
Israel Army Radio reported Tuesday that the woman told her friends that the senior official, who is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu went through text messages in her mobile phone, her private email account and even followed her outside work hours.

The Justice Ministry confirmed receiving the information and the Attorney General has ordered a probe into the case.
"We confirm that following information we received the Attorney General has instructed the Civil Service Commission's disciplinary division to hold a preliminary check of the veracity of this information," the Justice Ministry said.
It was nevertheless stressed that currently no substantial basis for the claims was found and no criminal investigation was launched.
Sources at the Prime Minister's Office said in response: "No complaint has been filed, this is a gossip check."
