Lindenstrauss presents final draft of Carmel Fire report
State comptroller sends final draft of report probing events of 2010's devastating fire to PM Netanyahu, AG Weinstein and ministers Steinitz, Yishai
State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss has completed the final draft of his report on the Carmel Fire of 2010.
The draft was sent to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Internal Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch and Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein for review on Thursday.

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz and Interior Minister Eli Yishai, who Lindenstrauss had previously stated were liable for the events of the devastating blaze, were also given a copy of the report.
The draft was also sent to Police Commissioner Yohanan Danino, the Israel Prison Service and the Defense Ministry.

December 2010's fire raged for four days and nights and left 44 people dead. Forty of the fatalities were IPS cadets sent to help firefighters with evacuation efforts.
The fire forced the evacuation of nearly 17,000 people and consumed 8,650 acres of land and natural forest. It also claimed the life of Haifa Police Chief Ahuva Tomer.
The Carmel Fire report focuses on six issues:
- The events of the first day, leading up to the cadets' death
- Emergency services' readiness for wide-scale emergencies
- Wildfire prevention
- The Israel Fire and Rescue Services
- Local authorities and Interior Ministry fire contingencies and performance
- Government ministers' accountability
The report's recipients have two weeks to inform the State Comptroller's Office of their reservations, prior to Lindenstrauss releasing it to the public.
