A principal of a haredi educational establishment and certified rabbi is suspected of sexually assaulting his female students, Ynet learned Tuesday. It is suspected that senior haredi leaders and politicians tried to keep the affair, which is now under police investigation, under wraps.
Earlier this week, a former student at a Central Israel establishment for girls filed a police complaint against the principal. The girl claimed he sexually harassed her, performed indecent acts on her and had non-consensual sexual relations with her.

She told investigators that the suspect performed similar acts on other students. Police learned that word of the affair is already circulating in the haredi community and that community leaders including politicians tried to keep it under wraps. Police are also keeping mum and refusing to comment at this stage.
A court recently banned the suspect, who had signed a letter of resignation, from entering the educational establishment's premises. The judges based their decision on photos, documents and other evidence supporting the allegations against him.
