An initial medical examination into Yehoshua Hafetz's death revealed that the cause of death was a heart defect. The complete findings will be available after an autopsy.
Hafetz was performing screening exercises for the Yahalom Unit, the corps' Special Operations Engineering Unit. Initial details suggest he collapsed while running.
The IDF has launched an inquest into the soldier's death. The Medical Corps has launched a parallel, independent inquiry in the matter as well.
