An IDF
observation balloon crashed Friday on the Israeli side of the Gaza border.
The balloon crashed after its cable was hit by a civilian crop duster flying by. The military has launched an inquiry into the matter. The crop duster landed safely.

According to available details, a technical team was immediately scrambled to the crash site to retrieve the zeppelin and ensure it can be redeployed as soon as possible.
The IDF operates observation balloons as part of its routine surveillance deployment in the Gaza sector.
Observation balloons, which float about 400 meters up in the air, are traditionally equipped with sophisticated cameras and surveillance system used by the military to thwart terror attacks.
