The seventh consecutive Pitch Point conference for the promotion of Israeli projects
in production will bring together local directors and producers and foreign foundation managers, film distributers and producer to discuss possible cooperation. This years' event will also feature an award of NIS 40,000 (about $10,000).
The Jerusalem Pitch Point event lasts two days, as part of the Jerusalem Film Festival. Previous years introduced successful films such as "Lebanon", "Policeman", "Infiltration", "Dr pomerantz" and "Good Morning Mr. Fidelman" among others affording them the opportuntiy to attract financial aid.
International Recognition
Critically-acclaimed 'The Law in These Parts,' which charts Israeli justice system's dealing in Palestinian territories, wins New Director's Prize at Canadian International Film Festival
The success of these movies contributed to the promotion of the conference in the Jerusalem Film Festival, bringing the Van Leer Foundation to grant a financial award to the most promising script to be chosen by a panel of senior members of the international film industry.
This award is joining the ranks of two existing awards by French television network ARTE and French Film foundation CNC. 15 Israeli projects in advanced stages of fund raising are nominated for the awards.
The 29th Jerusalem Film Festival will be held in Jerusalem between July 5 and 14. Over 150 films will be screened during the festival, with many international guests expected to attend.
