MK Hanin Zoabi (Balad) received a stormy Jewish welcoming last week during a lecture she gave to German students in Munich, in which she called Israel a "racist and fascist state," Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Wednesday.
In her lecture, Zoabi described what it is like to be a “Palestinian in the Israeli parliament." Her lecture, one of several events arranged by pro-Palestinian groups in the country, was filled with anti-Israel groups.

"Israel’s policies are racist and fascists," she said, adding that "There is no true democracy in Israel but rather a dictatorship under the Jewish majority, which acts to expel Palestinians from their land."
However, much to Zoabi's surprise, several Jewish students who attended the lecture in order to counter the Arab MK's allegations held up pictures of Arab-Israelis who have succeeded in obtaining prestigious positions in Israel, including Israel's High Court Judge Salim Joubran and former Deputy Foreign Minister Nawaf Masalha.
"Is this the racism you refer to?" they asked the MK. Zoabi in turn chose to ignore most of the criticism, instead calling several of the objectors "fascists."
