An IDF unit has arrested a Palestinian man who was hiding near the fence of a West Bank settlement on Tuesday. He was found in possession of a knife and a slingshot.
A group of hikers alerted the authorities after noticing the man crouching in the shrubbery in the Nahal Qana nature reserve, near the Ginot Shomoron settlement, around 6:30 pm. The town's security guard detained the Palestinian until the army forces arrived.

The Shin Bet has launched an investigation into the incident, while the IDF scoured the region for additional suspects.
Last week, a security officer from the settlement of Sha'arei Tikva, was run over by a car and killed while documenting Palestinians who entered Israel. The police believed he was hit intentionally. Witnesses said they saw the guard, Lior Farhi, running out onto the road, weapon in hand, immediately prior to being struck by the vehicle.
The suspected driver, a 25-year-old Kafr Qasim resident, was taken in for questioning. The details of the investigations have been placed under a gag order.
