Klezmer revival gets Londoners dancing

Golders Green synagogue goers put on their dancing shoes to the sounds of Jewish folk music

VIDEO – The North Western Reform Synagogue goers in London's Golders Green put on their dancing shoes last week to have a go at the Klezmer Keilidh. Live music was also on hand to put a spring in everyone's step.

The event was hosted by the North Western Reform Synagogue, alongside Klez-fiddler Ilana Cravitz, dance caller Guy Schalom and the London Klezmer Quartet.

There was a full house and the dance floor was packed with eager movers and shakers.

Hopkele productions led the night's proceedings. The company hosts similar events up and down the country.

Young and old, everyone had a chance to be merry on the last night of Hanukkah.

And indeed with such events, Jewish traditions will continue to be passed down to younger generations.
