UN envoy to Syria brings plan to end crisis

UN and Arab League envoy to Syria, Lakhdar Brahimi, will meet on Monday with Syrian President Bashar Assad. The French newspaper Le Figaro reported that Brahimi will bring to his meeting with Assad, a joint US-Russian plan to end the crisis in Syria.


According to the plan, a transit government will be created which will include ministers from the ruling and opposition parties. According to the newspaper, Assad will remain in power until 2014, which is also the year his term will end, but he will remain with no authority. (Roi Kais)
