Palestinian security forces shot and injured three Palestinian youths during a riot that broke out in the al-Am'ari refugee camp in Ramallah on Sunday. The extent of their wounds wasn't immediately clear.
At least 15 police officers were hurt by stones hurled by protesters while trying to clear a major road that was blocked by torched tires.

The clashes broke out when a demonstration staged by young residents of the camp got out of control. The youths rallied in show of solidarity with Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.

A witness said that some of the rioters fired shots at the cops who tried to disperse the crowds. The security forces later fired warning shots in the air before turning their guns on the protesters.
The Palestinian security forces has dispatched large forces to the area and blocked all entrances to the refugee camp in order to prevent the riots from escalating.
