After more than 200 days on hunger strike, administrative detainee Samer Issawi may finally have his way. His March release has been ordered, following a wave of protests in the West Bank.
Issawi – serving an eight month sentence for illegally entering the West Bank and for attempting to influence a witness – had originally been released as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange. He had been serving 26-years in prison for shooting at Israeli cars. Issawi is in the seventh month of his current sentence. (Aviel Magnezi)
