Richter came in sixth in the qualifying match, but managed to secure the first place in the final after leading the match from the very beginning and collecting 207.3 points.

Richter's abilities have been demonstrated several times in the past two years, when he returned from World Cup competitions with a medal on his chest. He reached his peak in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, missing a historic chance to make it to the final by just one point.

Richter began the European Championship with 103.8 points in the first set. He improved in the second set, recording his best score in the qualifications – 105.1 points.
In the next two sets he added 104.9 and 104.8 points. In the fifth set he scored just 103.2 points and in the last set 102.8, giving him a total of 624.6 points. The total score sent Richter to the sixth place, which gave him a ticket to the final.
Israel had two additional representatives in the qualifying match, who failed to make it to the next stage: Lior Madlal, who was ranked 37th with a total of 618.3 points, and Doron Egozi, who finished in the 59th place out of 66 competitors with 607.3 points.
