Fighting intensifies in northern Syria
Syrian rebels launched an offensive to try to seize an air base near the Turkish border and clashed with government forces at a historic mosque in the nation's largest city of Aleppo on Monday as fighting intensified in the northern parts of the country embroiled in a two-year-old civil war, activists said.
In Saudi Arabia, US Secretary of State John Kerry and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal together warned Syrian President Bashar Assad that they will boost support to rebels fighting to oust him unless he steps down. (AP)
