Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein
has been asked to review whether Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to hold the Foreign Affairs Portfolio for Yisrael Beiteinu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman
is legal.
According to the political pact between the two parties, Netanyahu agreed to hold the portfolio pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings against the former foreign minister.

Ynet learned Monday that the review was called after several complaints in the matter were filed with the Attorney General's Office.
According to the Justice Ministry the complaints said that Netanyahu's decision to hold the portfolio was illegal, further adding that it may have a detrimental effect on due process in the case.
Weinstein stressed that the fact that the review is being held "Does not, in any way, constitutes as this office's opinion on the matter, one way or another, as to its merit."
The Foreign Affairs portfolio, alongside the finance, and defense ministries, is one of the government's top-three portfolios.
