Finance Minister Yair Lapid flew abroad on Wednesday afternoon while the Knesset plenum met to discuss and vote on the VAT raise. Due to his trip, Lapid will not participate in the vote.
His deputy in the ministry, Mickey Levy, said that Lapid left for the OECD conference held in France. His office stated that his trip was initially cancelled due to the coalition crisis on the haredi draft issue, but after the crisis was solved Wednesday morning, Lapid left for Europe as planned.
