High Court rejects petition against Frenkel appointment

The state responded to the petition against the appointment of Jacob Frenkel to governor of the Bank of Israel due to his involvement in Lumenis and AIG, in light of criticism made by the State Comptroller.

The government representative argued that the petition should be dismissed in light of it being early in the process, with no final decision regarding the appointment having been made. It was also noted that the Advisory Committee has not completed its work and has not yet passed its opinion onto the Prime Minister. (Aviel Magnezi)
