Police initially arrested two suspects linked to the cell phone but released them several days later. The investigation is ongoing and the rapist is still at large.
It remains unclear whether the assailant broke into the apartment with the intent to rob the woman or assault her. Police issued a comprehensive gag order on the case which has twice been extended.
