Finance Minister Yair Lapid made a statement to his supporters regarding the cancellation of standardized exams, "This is a welcome decision, but we have no intention of stopping here. Cancelation of the standardized exam is a preliminary stage of a larger move toward dramatically reducing matriculation exams," wrote Lapid.
Lapid also noted, "Eliminating external tests is another step in the transfer of our education system into the 21st century. Teaching our children for the sake of learning, for the spirit and the education, rather than memorization in order to pass an exam and forget everything the next day." (Moran Azulay)
