Jerusalem has no country in iOS 7

World Clock app in Apple's new operating system lists Israel's capital city without state

VIDEO – Apple has recently launched its new operating system iOS 7, but it seems to have one crucial bug: The World Clock app lists Jerusalem without a country.

Conservative news website Blaze noticed that all capital cities in the world are listed with their countries except for Jerusalem, Taipei and Vatican City.

This isn’t the first time Jerusalem has not been recognized as being part of Israel. In April 2012, British newspaper The Guardian corrected a caption which, according to them, wrongly referred to Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry spokesman at that time issued a statement about the absurdity of not recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Jerusalem was designated by the Knesset as Israel’s capital in 1949. Both major US political parties recognize Jerusalem as the capital, although the city hosts no foreign embassies and the international community largely does not recognize it as the capital.
