Syria: Opposition demands Arab League to dismiss envoy to country

According to the London-based newspaper Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, Syrian opposition officials asked the Arab League, which will convene an urgent meeting on Sunday, to dismiss its envoy Lakhdar Brahimi from his tasks due to his disapproving statements and especially due to his insistence to include Iran in the Second Geneva Convention.

Brahimi is expected to meet with Syrian opposition sources and Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem on Tuesday. (Roi Kais)
