Syrian FM: Israel attacked on border due to success of our troops

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem addressed IDF's shooting of two Hezbollah fighters who tried to plant a bomb on the border fence between the Israeli side of the Golan Heights and the Syrian-held territory on Wednesday. "Israel feels that our troops are able to

shatter Golan Heights' security belt," Al-Moallem said.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry sent letters Wednesday to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the UN Security Council in which Damascus expressed its protest against the Israeli attack. "Israel does not hesitate to directly intervene in fighting and give assistance to terrorist organizations," the letter read. (Roi Kais)
