Beesheba District Courthouse sentenced 22-year-old Muhamad Abu Ah'edra, a Gaza Strip resident, to six-and-a-half years in prison for surveilling IDF forces with the intent of kidnapping an Israeli soldier to use as a bargaining chip in negotiating a prisoner's release.
According to the indictment, Abu Ah'edra was recruited by an agent of Hamas in the Sinai peninsula. The sentence was handed down during the plea bargain process. (Ilana Curiel)
