Violent protest breaks out after masked rioters interrupt quiet demonstration; protesters call for end of Gaza war.
Masked protesters threw stones, burned tires and one of them even burned the Israeli flag during a violent demonstration against Israel's ground operation in Gaza, on Route 444 near Tayibe on Friday night.
Large police forces arrived at the scene and used stun grenades, smoke grenades and water hoses to disperse the crowd.
The masked protesters interrupted a quiet demonstration of dozens of Taiybe residents against the ground operation. The protesters were waving Palestinian flags and called for the end of the armed conflict. "We'll sacrifice our lives for Gaza," they called.
