Arab League chief: Abbas asked Egypt's Morsi to destroy Gaza tunnels

Arab League Chief Nabil al-Arabi said Wednesday in an interview to one of Egypt media outlets that while Mohamed Morsi was president, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas gave him a list of tunnels dug between the Gaza Strip and Sinai Peninsula and asked him to destroy them.

Furthermore, Al-Arabi said that in the past Morsi requested of him to allow Hamas represent the Palestinians in the Arab League, but he refused. He added that to his opinion Hamas already, indirectly, recognized the state of Israel.
