Israeli documentaries "The Green Prince" written and directed by Nadav Schirman, which tells the story of the son of a top Hamas leader who became an Israeli agent and "The Decent One" by filmmaker Vanessa Lapa, based on Heinrich Himmler's diaries, will not be nominated for the Oscar awards this year.
However, not all is lost for Israel's film industry - "Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem", directed by Ronit Elkabetz (who also stars in the lead role) and her brother Shlomi Elkabetz is included in this year's Oscar nominations.
On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences on Tuesday revealed the 15 films that will compete for the Best Documentary Feature award. Despite predictions and expectations that at least one of the Israeli films would be nominated for the prestigious award, there will not be any blue and white representative on the list of nominees.
