White House: Obama sure US-Israel ties will remain strong whatever outcome of Israeli elections

President Obama is confident strong US-Israeli ties will endure far beyond the Israeli elections, regardless of the victor, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said late Tuesday night.

Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party appeared to have opened up a strong lead Wednesday morning, making it highly likely that he would form the next government. Netanyahu and Obama famously have a fractured relationship.
