Egypt orders trial for newspaper employees for 'false news'
Egypt's top prosecutor has referred to criminal trial three employees of a newspaper on charges of publishing "false news."
In a Monday statement, chief prosecutor Hisham Barakat said that the three, Al Bayan newspaper's Chairman of the Board Najiba Mahjoub, Editor In Chief Ibrahim Arif, and reporter Sarah Aladdin were involved in a report that incorrectly stated that six state prosecutors had been assassinated on a road leading to the capital, Cairo.
