Regev on artists' petition: 'Uncivilized to make baseless frightening statements'

Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev referred to an artists' petition against what they termed "anti-democratic" measures of the government and said that dialogue will not be held with artists via petitions.

"The signatories do not know me, have not heard me and know nothing about my plans. It's a bit uncivilized to make frightening statements about potential McCarthyism that are entirely baseless. I'm sorry, but I follow my beliefs."
