New Hamas Prisoner Ministry head: a former prisoner released during Shalit deal
Not long after the publication of the two Israelis missing in Gaza, Hamas appointed a high ranking official within the organization, Yehya Sinwar, to the post of Minister of Prisoners. Sinwar was released during the Shalit swap, and is believed to be very close to the Mohamed Def - the group's military wing Chief of Staff. Sinwar will likely serve as Def's represntitive in the group's political echelon.
