Superstar singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is coming to perform in Israel this summer, Ynet has learned.
Lopez sealed the deal in the last few days, and will appear for a single show in Tel Aviv's Park HaYarkon.
It will be the first show in Israel for the 46-year-old, who is thought of as one of the biggest US stars of the last few decades, with a rich career in music, cinema and television.
"Jenny from the Block" was born in 1969 in the Bronx, New York, to an observant Catholic family of Puerto Rican origin. She moved to Manhattan at the age of 18, working for peanuts and sometimes sleeping on the street, until her first break arrived – a minor role in the film "My Little Girl."
After working as a dancer and taking part in musical theater productions, J. Lo's career started to take off with roles in movies and TV shows that won her critical acclaim.
Lopez's musical career break followed in 1999 with the release of her first single, "If You Had My Love" – a huge hit which catapulted her debut album to dizzying heights.
Lopez turned into one of the icons of Latin music, alongside Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin. She has since released seven additional studio albums, selling over 55 million records in the process.
