Ibrahim Alyakim was sentenced on Thursday to sixty months in prison after he made his way to Syria to join the Jabhat al-Nusra (also known as Al-Nusra Front).
According to the verdict, Alyakim, a resident of Kafr Yasif in northern Israel, illegally exited the State of Israel and made his way to Syria where he stayed for half a year. During his six months in the war-torn country, Alikim participated in forbidden military exercises of the Jihadist organization which is declared an outlawed organization.
