Israelis travel the country on first day of Passover

Hundreds of thousands have taken to Israel’s many tourist destinations, beaches, forests, and national parks to celebrate the holiday and enjoy time off work and school.

Following Friday’s Passover Seder, Israelis woke to a bright and pleasant spring morning on Saturday, putting many in the mood for a daytrip. Hundreds of thousands left their homes during the day, enjoying the country’s many tourist attractions.

Many of the travelers are staying in hotels and motels in the Galilee and Golan regions, whose resorts are fully booked. “We thought everyone would stay home for a leftovers meal, but we are already seeing a lively presence of travelers in nature reserves and national parks,” said Parks Reserves Authority officials.

Many have gone out to nature, visiting Israel’s many nature reserves, national parks, forests, and other travel destinations. Beaches have also seen a large presence.

Weather forecasting company Meteo-Tech is predicting that Saturday will feature clear, pleasant weather across Israel. Temperatures are set to be higher than usual for this time of year, with highs of 37 degrees Celsius in Beer Sheva, 33 in Jerusalem, and 34 in Tel Aviv.
