Milotel Frozen Vegetables LTD has announced that Listeria monocytogenes has been found in its frozen French fries. Several bags of the product have been shipped out from the factory and are now in grocery stores.
Sources at Milotel believe that the bacteria will be killed as long as the product is prepared according to instructions. This is because the cooking temperature for the French fries is high enough to kill the bacteria.
With that being said, the company is erring on the side of caution, and has instituted a recall of the product. The recall is being carried out in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and the National Food Service.
The following products have been recalled:
1. 2 kilo family sized bags of Mehadrin French fries with an expiration date of 25/7/2017
2. 2.5 kilo family sized bags of "Chipsim fried potatoes" whose expiration date is 27/7/2017
3. 2.5 kilo bags of "Chipsim American Style" whose expiration date is 26/7/2017
4.800 gram bags of "Chipsim frozen family sized fried potatoes" with expiration date 28/7/2017
Customers who bought the products are asked to return the products to the store from which they were purchased.
