Five residents of the flashpoint Palestinian village of Ni'lin were arrested for shooting at IDF forces on Yom Kippur, October 11, 2016, it was cleared for publication Wednesday.
They assailants were arrested in a joint operation conducted by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police just hours after carring out the attack, which concluded with no injuries to IDF forces.
In a press release issued by the Shin Bet, the arrested individuals were identified as: Barkat Huajah, 39; Hazme Nefa, 20; Khalil Othman, 23; and Mohammad Huajah, 24.
Another 16 year old, whose identity was not revealed due to his age, was also involved in the attack.
According to the investigation of the gunmen, it emerged that they acquired their weapon from an arms dealer in the West Bank before carrying out what was intended to be a lethal shooting attack against IDF soldiers.
The weapons used in the attack were confiscated during the arrest, along with the car the five suspects used during its execution.
