Nineteen arrested in overnight sweep for public disorder offences during High Holidays

Nineteen suspects were arrested overnight Saturday during a joint operation between the Israel Police and the Israel Border Police.


The suspects, five of whom are youths from East Jerusalem, are suspected of involvement in public disorder when they threw rocks and Molotov Cocktails, and blocked off roads with trash cans during the Jewish High Holy Days, particularly on Yom Kippur.


According to the police, the arrests were made based on accurate intelligence which was gathered by the police during operations in Silwan, Jabel Mukaber, Isawiya and Shuafat refugee camp in Jerusalem
