Two separate shootings within 45 minutes of one another took place in Haifa Tuesday morning, in what police believe to be connected incidents.
A 45-year-old man was pronounced dead after being shot at approximately 10pm in his upper body on HaGiburim Street in the city.
According to medics, they performed emergency treatment on the man after he lost consciousness, had no pulse and was not breathing. However they eventually had no choice but to pronounce his death.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are being investigated.
In a separate incident less than an hour earlier, a 48-year-old man was evacuated to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa in moderate condition after being shot in his lower body on Ha'atzmaut Street.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting, prompting police to launch a manhunt for the assailant.
While the precise circumstances were unknown just before noon on Tuesday, the police said that they believed that there was a connection between the two incidents.
