Ministry of Defense Crossing Authority officials stopped an Israeli vehicle to be searched after the driver aroused the suspicion of officers.
During the inspection, security officials discovered a Beretta pistol and two full magazines, both of which were then confiscated from the vehicle. The driver has been transferred to police for questioning.
It should be noted that the Te'enim Crossing on Route 557 became a civilian crossing only last week, with its responsibilities transferred from the IDF to the MOD Crossing Authority.
With this change, Te'enim Crossing has become the 14th crossing in the West Bank (16th including crossing points to the Gaza Strip) which has been transferred from the IDF to the Ministry of Defense, in turn becoming a civilian crossing point.
