The driver, who drove Afikim's line 64, deviated from his route for an unknown reason and crashed into the Delek Motors car dealership, which was empty of customers at the time.
Employees at the car dealership said that they suddenly heard "a big bang" following which parts of the ceiling started flying everywhere.
"We were in shock," one of the workers said. "We ran out and did not really understand what happened. The vehicles on display were not damaged, but the whole place was destroyed."
The Afikim bus company released a statement regarding the incident: "The company and the driver are cooperating fully with the police. We are happy the bus was empty of passengers and that the bus lane was empty so no one was hurt in this unfortunate incident. The driver, who was lightly injured, was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation."
