Palestinians pelt 70 tourists with rocks in West Bank

Group enters Binamin area near Halamish without receiving required approval from IDF, forcing troops to extricate them from attack by Palestinian rock-throwers; no one injured in incident.

A group of 70 tourists found themselves under attack on Friday morning after Palestinians began throwing stones at them in the Binyamin area of the West Bank.

The IDF was forced to extricate the group which, during their tour across Israel, entered the area near Neveh Tzuf, also known as Halamish.

No one was injured in the attack, but some were lightly struck by the rocks and damage was caused to some of the group members’ personal belongings.

According to the IDF, the group submitted a request to tour the area and proceeded to do so despite not receiving the required approval.

Since violent incidents against tourists in the West Bank are particularly common on Fridays, the IDF demands that groups do not enter the area without prior coordination and approval which includes a protected tour with regional commanders.
