Iran's President: 'Weapons in Iran are meant for deterrence against attack on our territory'
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said during his speech at the UN General Assembly that "Iran's weapons of defense are intended only for deterrence purposes in order to prevent foreign forces from attacking its territory."
Rouhani said Iran was not striving to restore its former empire: "We are convinced of our truth and will never try to export it through violence."
