Following malfunction in Tamar reservoir, electricity prices may rise

Upon being notified of the malfunction in the reservoir, the Israel Electric Company said it readied its supply of alternative fuel sources to cover for Rosh Hashanah usage, such as coal, liquid gas and diesel.

Since these energy sources cause more pollution and are more expensive than gas, beyond any environmental damage that may be caused the price of electricity may also rise, as it is set according to the cost of the fuels used to generate it.
