Erdan: 'I will not allow legislation harming police work'

Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan spoke at the Yad Binyamin security conference and commented on the initiative to bar police from recommending indictments when an investigation is concluded.

"While I will not allow the promotion of legislation that may damage police work, police must focus on its own tasks rather than follow advice of external factors, which may end up harming the public's confidence in the force," he said.

"No legislation against the police should be categorically struck down, however," Erdan added.
